Overview:

The ideal candidate is an experienced purchaser with proven ability to manage warehousing and distribution for a large volume multi-unit food operation who will effectively support the Food & Beverage team by managing all aspects of the tender program, purchasing process and ensure all products are budgeted, delivered, tracked, and distributed effectively.


Responsibilities:
  • Manages purchasing, tendering negotiations, warehousing and deliveries for the Food & Beverage Division
  • Responsible for the development and execution of operational policies and procedures. Ensures that internal controls within the department are in place, routinely evaluated and followed
  • Oversee the divisional H&S and Food Safety Programs
  • Review approve supply contracts prior to Director Signature
  • Work with suppliers on an ongoing basis in reviewing service levels, quality controls, pricing and/or opportunities to further improve divisional financial positioning
  • Assists with the selection, training, and employment experience of the seasonal associates
  • Assists with maintaining control over actual expenditures
  • Assists with the administration for all pertinent systems (Food Trac, POS, audit program(s), training manuals and documentation)
  • Communicates on an ongoing basis with the Operating Departments, Maintenance, and IS by scheduling and attending all necessary meetings
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends, innovations and practices driving actionable results
  • Assists with modifications, design and/or set-up of each location
  • Assists with the monitoring of guest comments and safety incidents to determine trends; responds appropriately
  • Adheres to and enforces all Division and Company policies and procedures, including safety, attendance policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment
  • All other duties/projects as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Post secondary certificate or degree in Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Red Seal certified, SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designation and asset
  • Proven track record in a leadership role purchasing for a high-volume multi-unit facility
  • Commitment to excellence in service with proven ability to maintain significant attention to detail
  • Proven experience with pricing, negotiating, COS, analysis and reporting for a large-scale food operation
  • Must set actionable goals; take initiative to deliver; shows persistence in problem solving while keeping others focused on results
  • Highly proficient with food production/culinary arts, cash procedures and related systems
  • Prior experience with Food Trac an asset
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills and proficiency with Word and Excel programs
  • Must have a valid Driver's Licence
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs
