Starting rate for this position is $16.50 / hour with higher rate eligibility dependent upon skill level and experience.

Technical Services at Worlds of Fun brings ideas to light with the installation of theatrical lighting, sound, and many other technical aspects that produce the magic of the parks. As a Technical Services Supervisor you’ll assist with planning, scheduling, and the execution of special events and live shows while also leading projects such as the installation of lights, sound, and other technical elements.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the team and projects to enhance park looks and sounds, creating the ultimate guest experience.
  • Ensure daily schedules are created and updated throughout the season.
  • Plan and host daily team meetings.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Constructing and installing new product in manner consistent with the artistic vision of park management, show producers and designers.
  • Troubleshooting equipment failure and working to resolve any issues safely and efficiently.
  • Assisting with load in and out of park activities, productions, and special events.
  • Assisting guest artists, production crews, and other outside labor/materials as assigned.
  • Preparing facilities for shows, special events, and daily activities and ensuring smooth operation.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe work environment for all involved.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of technical theatre experience, preferably in sound and/or lighting.
  • Advanced knowledge of theatrical lighting and/or sound systems.
  • Ability to lead and guide technicians in a variety of projects.
  • Ability and willingness motivate all technicians on the way to achieve optimum job performance through positive feedback and personal example.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, lift, team lift,and carry technical equipment as well as work in high and/or low temperatures.
