Shift/Schedule Requirements: Ability to work various shifts and days including nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

Develops, implements, and administers Park's human resources function ensuring day-to-day HR operations are performed successfully. Communicates and provides direction to all associates and ensures compliance with all federal and state employment laws as well as with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Manages all aspects of the Human Resources employment administration process to include, but not limited to, applicant tracking, paperwork processing, document/record retention, benefits administration and payroll. Ensures adequate and friendly service is provided to all associate and applicants.
  • Manages all onboarding processes. Ensures each division has appropriate staffing levels during all phases of the park's operation.
  • Communicates with associates at all levels of the Company and key external contacts including vendors, other business contacts, regulatory agencies and local, state or federal government offices. Utilizes various formats of communication including verbal, written and statistical data.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities for HRIS systems, including payroll, ATS, time and attendance, scheduling, unemployment claims processing and on-boarding processes, including processing and report writing, as required.
  • Manage in developing strategies to attract, recruit, select, and on-board high quality candidates against defined criteria for multiple disciplines to fill seasonal positions.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to develop a strong understanding of the department culture, business strategy and hiring needs to deliver on the hiring needs of the business. Effectively coaches hiring managers in selection processes while ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of operating budget for areas of responsibility. Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget. Make overall adjustments to meet departmental goals.
  • Provide training and direction to line associates by coaching and counseling associates to improve performance.
  • Delegates work assignments appropriately and motivate staff to achieve optimum job performance.
  • Partners with Employee Relations Manager by working with associates and management to determine, document and implement reasonable job accommodations for sincerely held beliefs and for an employee's verified claim of disability.
  • Act as an employee relations representative for concerns involving associate issues such as harassment and discrimination claims. Receive initial associate complaint reports, conduct investigations and recommend corrective actions. Accurately and thoroughly document investigations. Liaise with Park security and law enforcement in any criminal matters.
  • Serves as Human Resources Manager On-Duty as scheduled with responsibilities for conducting employment investigations, coaching managers and divisional leaders and reviewing requests for dismissal.
  • Maintains updated job descriptions in compliance with federal, state and local laws and Cedar Fair policy.
  • Reviews background check information for newly hired associates and renders employment decisions on the basis of such information. Ensures the process is in full compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws.
  • Manages the training and staff development programs.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (4 year College or University), Human Resources Management or Related Field.
  • 5 - 7 Years Related Experience in Human Resources, theme park, hospitality, entertainment or travel industry preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of effectively leading and supervising others.
  • Demonstrated strong familiarity with federal, state and local labor laws, including EEO, medical and religious accommodations, FMLA, and minor labor laws.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, as well as, superior spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Strong time and project management skills and experience.
  • A high level of organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers, including applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups and facilitate presentations and trainings.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze employment data and present relevant information to key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver against set goals.
